AAeV Halter Show 13-15.10.2023 in Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany.

Futuregen will be running two workshops (two similar ones) and one seminar presentation about the basics of patterns during the three days, which are open to all the visitors to join. There will be a translation in German. Wellcome! Please see the more exact timings and info below:

Working with Colours– workshops are on Friday 13th at 16-18:00 & on the Saturday 14th at 12-14:00 and they are all about learning to how to interpret and work with the data – to learn how to practically fit it in to your breeding tool box!

This session is a continuance to the previous online seminars “Basics of the Base Colour” & “Genotyping the Colour” that have been provided to the AAeV members.

Breeders will be working with their own animals and the real benefit will be gained if you have joined these two previous seminars and have your own Alpaca Colour Test results to take with you.

You would also need your fully charged laptop (and your charger cable just in case), create a folder on your laptop and add your Colour Test results (both PDF and Excel), photos of each individual that you wish to work with during the workshop, and any additional information / data that have a strong impact to your breeding decisions, such as fibre test results (and potentially fibre samples!) and pedigrees.

There will be a short moment for questions in the beginning of both workshops and it is an interactive workshop so obviously questions may be asked during the whole duration, however, the focus in these sessions is to concentrate in working with the data and learning a practical way to combine it to other traits that you value in your breeding process and I want to be able to help everyone individually as we go.

You can participate on both days as you see best fit to your schedule. Even though this session is mainly built for those who will work with their own results, breeders with no results are also more than welcome to come and learn as we work.

I hope it will give a very good idea to everyone joining on how to gain the best benefit of knowing the genotypes of your own ones.

On Sunday at 10:30-12:00 I will be presenting a seminar about the Basics of Patterns, and I hope everyone who is interested in this topic is able to join!

I am obviously going to be around the whole weekend and am looking forward to many discussions with all of you who want to have a chat! So please come and say hello. I must admit though, that I don’t speak German just yet… Need to consider taking lessons!

Looking forward to being part of this event and good luck to everyone joining in with animals!

Please feel free to share!

Kind regards,
Futuregen
